  • How do I apply to LCIS?

At LCIS, we pride ourselves on our warm and friendly approach, which you’ll experience from the moment you get in touch with us.

To apply to join our school, you'll need to follow the steps below:

    • Register your interest using our short enquiry form.
    • We'll arrange an in-person or virtual campus tour, where you'll explore our facilities and meet our teachers.
    • You'll then need to submit our online application form. We accept applications all year round.
    • Children joining us in the Early Years will be invited to an in-class assessment. Families of prospective Primary and Secondary students will meet with the school head to talk about expectations and preferences.
    • If LCIS is the right fit for your child, we'll formally offer you a place.
  • What admissions documents do I need to provide?

Alongside your online application form, you'll need to provide some supporting documents.

    • A copy of their health insurance card.
    • A residency permit (once you are in Switzerland).

  • How does the application process work if my company is paying the tuition fees?
Our aim is to make your application process as easy as possible. If your company is paying your child's tuition fees, our admissions and finance teams will liaise with them directly. This will allow you to concentrate on your child’s wellbeing and education.
  • What makes LCIS unique?

There are lots of reasons why LCIS is such a special place to learn.

Besides our warm and welcoming community, LCIS is set in breathtaking surroundings, boasts world-class teachers, has state-of-the-art facilities, and delivers an unbeatable academic curriculum that inspires every student to excel. Our caring and dedicated educators tailor each student’s education to their needs and aspirations, and offer a wide range of inspiring activities and out-of-school experiences.

Studying here, your child will make incredible memories, forge new friendships, and discover their true potential.

  • What curricula do you teach? And do you offer bilingual programmes?

Our youngest learners gain fundamental skills through the broad and stimulating Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Our Primary curriculum combines the best aspects of the National Curriculum for England (ENC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). This approach creates an ambitious learning environment that meets the needs of our international community. Our integrated, tailored range of French options, from a beginner's foreign language course to truly bilingual provision, provides an excellent transition into our diverse international secondary curriculum.

Lower Secondary students (Years 7-9) follow a curriculum programme that prepares them for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) (Years 10-11). Through outstanding French tuition, your child will achieve excellent academic results, with the option of continuing to develop their strengths in two or more languages.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (ages 16-18) is considered the gold standard in pre-university education, and is recognised by leading higher education providers across the world. Its rigorous assessment process and enriching curriculum are excellent preparation for future success. Whether your child opts to take the single language or bilingual IB Diploma, they will be well equipped to apply to - and earn places at - top universities in Switzerland and abroad.

  • Are your teachers qualified?

All our teachers hold globally recognised qualifications and have rich and relevant professional experience in their field. As a member of the Nord Anglia Education family, LCIS has the global reach to attract and hire the best teachers from around the world, too.

Rigorous recruitment procedures, led by Nord Anglia, support our pursuit of excellence. To ensure teaching quality, our staff are continuously evaluated against school and global benchmarks, as well the rigorous Nord Anglia Quality Assurance Framework. This Framework is based on best practice from education providers and inspection bodies around the world.

Of course, all our staff also undergo rigorous background checks and receive regular high-level training in child protection and safeguarding.

  • English is not our family’s first language. How will LCIS support my child?
English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is available to new students at LCIS, and our highly-qualified teachers have plenty of experience integrating children from many different language backgrounds. Your child will be supported to adapt quickly and succeed in school, both academically and socially.

We recognise that a child's home language is equally important, too, and support our learners to flourish within their own culture and language.
  • Do you provide after-school activities?
Yes, we offer more than 80 different extracurricular activities. From STEAM, robotics, and computer science to sports, languages, and the performing arts, there truly is something for everyone at LCIS.
  • How do you nurture personal growth and wellbeing?

Nurturing our students’ health and wellbeing is one of the most important things we do as a school. That’s why Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) education is at the heart of our curriculum.

This begins with circle time for our Early Years students and continues with weekly PSHE lessons as our learners progress through the grades. PSHE topics include social and emotional wellbeing, developing study skills, and honing a positive mindset. Our Primary and Secondary counsellors are always onsite to support our students and their families too.

  • Will my child need a laptop?

In Primary, our children have access to our iPad trolley.

In Years 7, 8 and 9, we give every student an iPad. Year 10 and 11 students receive a MacBook. Our IBDP students, meanwhile, bring their own laptop into school. This can be either a PC or MacBook, depending on their preference.

  • Where can I find the school's term and holiday dates?
You can find our term, holiday, and key event dates in our school calendar.
  • Do you offer a school lunch?

Our onsite catering team cook up fresh, delicious, and healthy school meals for our students. These are carefully prepared to provide the right nutritional balance so that our learners have the fuel they need to learn.

You can find out more on our parent essentials page.

  • Does the school have a nut or allergy policy?

Student safety is our number one priority at LCIS, and we recognise that some foods may be hazardous to a handful of students. As a result, we have a policy of no nuts in school, and ensure that teachers and students are not only aware of the potential dangers, but are also able to assist where necessary.

We have a full-time nurse onsite, who is on call during school hours and at after-school events. Our nurse keeps detailed records of all students’ allergies and other medical needs. They’re happy to speak to parents, whether that’s during your tour or your child’s time at LCIS.

  • Where do your families live?
We are proud to welcome families from as far away as Geneva and Lausanne, which reflects the prestige of an LCIS education.
  • How does the school communicate with parents?

We communicate with our parents in a variety of ways:

    • Face-to-face meetings, either at planned Academic Review evenings or at a parent or teacher’s request.
    • Through formal reports at the end of each term, as well as a settling-in report after their first month at LCIS.
    • Emails and phone calls.
    • The Tapestry platform, to share the progress and achievements of our Early Years students.
    • The Seesaw portal, to send messages, photos, and information to parents of Primary students.
    • The ManageBac platform, to help Secondary students access files and keep track of homework.
    • The school’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
    • Weekly updates, which share highlights from our community and detail upcoming events and activities.
  • As a parent, how can I get involved?

We meet regularly with our Parent Council to discuss school matters. Through constructive and transparent collaboration, we foster a vibrant network of students, parents, and the wider local community. We always listen to and engage with our families, incorporating their views into school action plans and policies.

We also have an active Parent–Teacher Association, which works hard to create a warm and welcoming environment for new families joining our community.
