Congratulations to our young musicians Boha from Year 12 for achieving a stunning first place in the Classical String Bow category and Annie from Year 11 for a fantastic second place in the Classical Piano category in a NAE Global Campus competition.

Coming from a family of skiers, Matyas never thought that skiing would become his long-term pursuit and passion. He has always been a sports enthusiast, from water sports to athletics and his beloved football. As his skiing progressed, he had to give up other sports to solely focus on skiing. His journey in skiing began years ago when his parents put him on little skis at the age of three. Since then, he has been part of the Czech National Team, competing in international races and competitions and is now aiming at the US where he wants to study and be part of the university ski teams.

This is a story of our student who joined us in Year 12 for the IB Diploma Programme. Coming from a small school in Tuscany, Italy knowing little English but still landing a professional contract within a few months after moving to a new country with no experience in the fashion industry. When he found out his mother was moving to Prague, he took the opportunity to learn languages and explore.

Boha's childhood dream of participating in the world-renowned international competition for young violinists, nicknamed "The Olympics of the Violin," the Menuhin Competition, has become a reality. Having lived in South Korea, the US, and now Prague since 2021, Boha will soon be moving again to attend her dream university, Curtin Institute of Music, where she was accepted being amongst only 4% of candidates accepted each year.

From short-film amateur productions to the lead role in Slovakia’s entry film for the 2023 Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category, Gleb, our Year 13 student talked about his journey in the film industry. Gleb always wanted to be an actor since he was a child and has been working towards his dream ever since and moving to a different country seven years ago did not stop him. He had a chance to work alongside well-known Czech actors such as Igor Chmela, Alena Mihulova and Victor Zavadil, and international actors from Ukraine and Slovakia. After a long five months of castings, he made his screen debut in the film Victim which was released in 2022

It all started with her mother seeing a Latin American dance club next to Ioana’s kindergarten. As soon as she saw it, she immediately took five-year-old Ioana to try her first lesson. Years later, after hours of hard work and passion for Latin American and Ballroom dancing, Ioana became part of the Czech National Dance Team and until two years ago, when she decided to focus on her business studies within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, she was a successful dancer. Studying Business, Psychology, English, Spanish, Math, and Environmental Systems and Societies she is now focusing on her future and a new dream; to start her own perfume company.

From a go-karting enthusiast to signing a professional contract with McLaren and being a part of the Veloce Elites team, Harvey his making his dream come true. At the age of 14, Harvey moved to the Czech Republic from Denmark where his passion for motor sports started, he then, during the lockdown, kick started his career in Esport. Whilst studying Creative Media, Sports Dance, Spanish, and English for his International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme he has struggled with time-management and letting the critics rule his perception. Nevertheless, he learnt new skills and gained confidence which has helped him to shine.

The One Third Story Writing Competition was an opportunity for students across Nord Anglia Education schools to celebrate internationalism and multilingualism. With over 118 stories received from 42 schools, the competition was a huge success, and securing a runner up place is a tremendous achievement.

As every year, our Student Leadership Day was held in connection with World Children's Day to highlight the importance of students’ voices. World Children’s Day is a great opportunity for children to raise their voices on issues that matter the most to their generation: from climate change to education, mental health, social issues, and others.

Whilst the summer is a valuable time for children to unwind from the school routine and spend time with family, there aren’t many better ways for your child to spend the warmer months than at a summer camp.
